Can I request the same goalie again?
Absolutely. Most goalies have our business card. Simply ask for their first and last name and they will mark it down on the back. There is no guarantee that you will get the same goalie again due to scheduling restrictions.
Why do you add a $5 surcharge to games that start between 11pm and 9am?
The reason is that a lot of goalies are reluctant to take very early or very late games. Add to the fact that leagues are often running behind schedule at that hour, and that many rinks give their last shinny rental of the night an extra 10-20 minutes of ice time anyway, which we do not surcharge for. This surcharge goes entirely to the goalie who is playing the game, and not to Goalies Unlimited.
Goalies Unlimited has not raised its rental costs in nearly 3 years.
You also note a $20 surcharge for games that “must be booked outside normal operating hours. Why?
We operate an 11 hour workday from 10 am till 9 pm, 7 days per week. There is ample opportunity to book during our normal business hours. For example, we often receive calls early Sunday morning for games to be played at 9:30 am on that very Sunday morning. The only way we can justify disturbing our goalies in that manner is to offer them the surcharge. Again, this surcharge goes entirely to the goalie who is playing the game, and not to Goalies Unlimited.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for about four hours notice if you need to cancel a game. This gives us enough time to get in touch with the goalie and let him know of the cancellation. Goalies Unlimited has never charged for canceling a booking, and this policy will remain in effect as long as our clients respect our timeframes and provide ample notice.
However, if we are unable to get a hold of the goalie in time, we ask that you provide a $10 gas fee if he does show up to the game.
How quickly do you return phone calls?
Generally within minutes of receiving your message. If your call isn’t returned immediately, it probably because we are on the ice!
How much notice do you need for a booking?
Although we have filled games on less than an hour’s notice, DON’T LEAVE THINGS TO CHANCE! Calling at 5 o’clock for your 6:15 game will likely mean the goalie will be sitting in traffic on the 401 instead of in your net. Choose a cut off time when you are looking for a goalie. Four hours notice or greater will virtually guarantee that you receive a goalie for your game.
